This also applies in cases where a third party is responsible for the damages or accident.

Upon vehicle collection, a deposit must be paid equal to the excess amount selected for insurance coverage. The deposit will be returned within seven days after the end of the rental period or upon return of the vehicle to the rental company, whichever is later. If the vehicle is involved in an accident, collision, or stolen, the deposit may be withheld.
